Nainai has been writing blogs on each of your birthday since you were born

I've always used Chinese and asked your dad to read it to you

This year, I decided to write your birthday blog in English

So you will be able to read it yourself

Nainai hope one day you and meimei will be able to read it in Chinese!

Last year after celebrating your 8th birthday, we all went for a road trip to Canada. 

7/22/2022 Watching Niagara Falls from Canada is very different from US side

Nature is amazing!

7/23/2022 We visited Fort George, You've learned a lot from this trip

You and meimei are very lucky since your dad and mom are very knowledgeable

The most important thing is they LOVE and WILLING TO teach you whenever there's a chance

We had lunch at Lake House Restaurant where it overlooked the Lake Ontario

Don't you think this Lake just like an ocean?

7/24 Hocky Museum in Toronto

7月28日 Riverdale Park East with the view of Toronto city skyline

From this photo, it looks like this big grassland is very flat, but actually the slope is very steep.

You and dad raced down and came up with quite an effort

Afterwards mom and mei joined in

yeye and nainai felt quite tiring just by looking at you guys climbing the slope up, haha

7/31 Left Toronto and stayed one night in Rochester before heading back to Boston on 8/1 

You and meimei like this so much, you danced and sang for longtime without even feeling tired.

At the end of August, you and family flew to San Diego. 

Cousin Penny's dad, uncle Tim and your dad are two closest cousins

They hope their children can be life long best friends like they are.

9/1 said goodbye to Penny, Penny and parents will leave for LA and you will go back to Boston directly from San Diego

3 second cousins hugged and hoped to see each other soon.

9/25 facetime with nainai 

facetime with you and meimei always made me happy

10/8 mom and dad took you girls to Tuckerman's Ravine, must be quite difficult and tiring, but you all made it! Bravo!!!

10/29 facetime again! jiejie, you looked quite serious, haha

10/31 You became a cute tiger and mei a cute witch!

Got so much candy this year. Must be very happy!

11/27 facetime to show us the trophy you and meimei got

You ran 4 laps, almost a mile and came in second place for all girls in your grade.  You ran even faster than your dad, that's what your dad told me! 

Great job, jiejie!

meimei also got a smaller participation trophy, yeye and nainai are very proud of you two!

Waited for months, finally we all got together in Tokyo on 12/23/2022

Our 17 days Family Japan Trip began!

You and meimei loved this!

 12/26 日本平 Those two days Mount Fuji was everywhere! Wherever we go, Mount Fuji was in our sight!

12/29 天橋立綠洲 you and shushu became good friends

It's a very unique experience to ride the swing under The Himeji, isn't it?

12/30 another great experience to feed the deer in 東大寺 Nara

 The biggest wooden structure in the world Todai-ji 東大寺

I believe you still remember the very big Budda inside the temple!

12/31 Osaka Castle 大阪城

12/31/2022 We had buffet dinner at Conrad Hotel to celebrate The New Year's Eve

1/3/2023 大室山 there's a small park with a unique amphitheater

you and meimei performed the song "It seems to us, After forty years...."

the song everyone of you worked together to celebrate yeye and nainai's 40th anniversary

Thank you all! That's the best present we can get for our 40th anniversary

1/6/2023 the night before we said goodbye, hugging and hugging will never enough

3/26 to Killington with uncles and aunties

4/9 Dad took you and meimei to Killington again 

first time for you girls to double black and amazingly you two did it successfully

dad was very happy since he finally can ski with daughters without any limit

2023.5.14 You and Mei facetime with nainai on Mother's Day

Nainai is very happy to see two smiling faces 

2023.5.28 Memorial weekend you and mei cleaned your own bikes 

both of you have good role model ~ your dad who tried to do everything by himself

he and your mom trained you and mei to be independent 

you will know how important it is when you grow older and older

2023.6.3 yeye and nainai came to Boston, we meet up again

After dinner, your dad will say "Cinderella", then you and meimei started to do the cleaning job

How cute and how good you girls are!

2023.6.23 we all went to New Jersey to attend uncle Michael's beautiful wedding

小小 you are the most precious girl yeye and nainai can ask for

2023.6.24 The following day of the wedding, you, meimei and mom will leave for Taiwan with us

Three of you will spend two months in Taiwan

you and dad cannot bear to part from each other

lots of hugs

2023.6.26 Arrived in Taipei and tried to get use to the hot and humid weather

After 3 and half years, you and meimei look very different, both of you grew up too fast!

First time to meet your second cousins Maddy and Mia

you turn 9 years old today

Yesterday we went to tai-a-po house and tai-a-po gave you 1000 as a birthday gift 

Today we will celebrate your birthday at tai-nai-nai house together with uncles and auties 

This is the first time you and meimei spend whole summer in Taiwan

Just like your dad and shushu when they were in your age

They were exposed to different culture and environment since they were very young and they were truly benefit from that

Hope you and meimei will be the same

spend future summer either in Taipei or Beijing

immerse yourselves to your Chinese heritage
